Cemeteries and Churchyards

Fees - Once a memorial has been placed on order, there is usually a fee payable to the local authority or Church. We will advise you of this cost and arrange for all necessary application forms to be completed

Memorials allowed - Cemeteries and Churchyards have different rules and regulations governing the size and material allowed. We will advise you of any restrictions.

Our Guarantee
A written guarantee for six years is given with all new memorials supplied by ourselves. However, this guarantee does not cover vandalism or accidental damage to the memorial and we strongly recommend that memorial insurance is taken out, details of which we can provide you with.

Materials
Normally we would recommend the use of granite wherever possible as it is a hard wearing material that requires little maintenance and is available in many different colours. More traditional materials, such as marble, crownstone or Portland are available to order.

Magdalen Cemetery (within the grounds of the Crematorium)
Caister Borough Cemetery (off Ormesby Road)

New memorials  (or work on existing memorials) can only be carried out by ourselves if the owner of the Exclusive Right of Burial signs the Borough Councils green memorial application form (which we can provide for you) and can produce either the original Deed of Exclusive Right of Burial form, or a photocopy, showing themselves as the registered owner of the plot.

If the person requesting the work to be carried out is not the registered owner of the plot, then a transfer of the deeds into their name is required.  In this instance, we would require a copy of the transfer notification before we could proceed with any work.  For more information regarding a transfer of the deeds, please contact the Cemetery Superintendent, Mrs. Linda Bigg on 01493 441974.
